Venture Crew Affiliate

Venturing Crew 301, chartered (sponsored) by Splash, is a Boys Scouts of America registered group of boys and girls ages 14–20. It is designated as a "High Adventure" group focused on scuba diving. New youth members are always welcome. You do not need to have been a Scout in the past to join. If you are in Scouting, you can join and also stay in your present Scout organization. Venture Crew activities can count towards your Eagle Scout and Venture 301 has Eagle Scout Alumni. Dues are $25 per year for those not already registered in a BSA organization and $15 for those who are.

Crew 301 does not only scuba dive. Plans are under way for the 2006–2007 season to include: rock climbing, cave exploring, a couple of ski/boarding trips and advanced dive training (including First Responder and Rescue Diver training and refreshers). The Crew gets together twice a month, usually on Saturday afternoons. We usually have one outing or event per month.

Each year the Crew goes on a Super Event. In 2003, it was wreck diving in Hatteras. In 2004, it was a trip to the BSA Sea Base in the Florida Keys for a week of reef diving. What will 2006–2007 bring us?

Crew members qualify for discounts on equipment rental, purchase and training from Splash. The crew has its own instructors and divemasters.
