Adventures with Splash
The experienced Caribbean diver wanting to see plentiful schools of new, different, colorful species of fish must come diving with Splash on one of our Pacific-based vacations!
Come in to Splash and pick your cabin for the February 10, 2014 sailing in the waters of Palau aboard the Ocean Hunter III. Or, June 19, 2014, have the experience of a lifetime aboard Mike Ball's Spoilsport diving the Great Barrier Reef. Choosing a liveaboard takes you to more remote dive sites with conditions more pristine than possible with land-based resorts. Also, unlike day-boat operators, the captains of these large vessels have more flexibility in their itineraries to move to the sites with the best diving conditions based on the current local weather. Palau guests will also see wrecks of historic significance from World War II in Peleliu. Both vessels have accommodated world-class photographers in the past and can provide support for all our divers wanting to take their craft to another level.
These vessels do sell out, so make your plans now!
Exposure Protection
Whether you're headed for a weekend in a Virginia lake or a week's vacation in the tropics, the correct choice in exposure protection is essential to the overall success of your dive trip. This spring, as we have experienced every year, we have people coming in to Splash AFTER their "SPRING" break trip buying additional layers of thermal protection so they don't miss out on dives on their NEXT trip because they are too cold!
Please, for your own sake, trust the experienced members of Splash's retail staff to help you make appropriate choices of layers of neoprene and Lycra based on YOUR trip destination. The addition of Lavacore pieces to any diver's wardrobe will increase both the comfort and range of temperatures that you can experience. Special note to those of you who enjoy kayaking: we have just gotten in the purpose-built zip-top shirt and padded bottoms that can give you the freedom of movement as well as cushiony insulation you'll love. Try on a 3 mm Lavacore base layer underneath a 3, 5 or 7 mm neoprene suit for dramatically improved ease of donning, doffing and staying dryer than you can imagine in between!
